San Pedro Alcántara Honors José Gómez Lara with Naming of Roundabout
The City Council paid tribute to José Gómez Lara today by naming the roundabout at the entrance to the Ronda road in San Pedro Alcántara (on the A-397) after him. The event was attended by the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, members of the municipal corporation, and numerous family and friends of the honoree. The mayor emphasized that ‘this initiative stems from the heart, shared by many people and residents who deeply appreciate the legacy of José Gómez Lara, a self-made man, tireless entrepreneur, and example of love for San Pedro.’ Muñoz, highlighting ‘the human, business, and social legacy of an exemplary San Pedro resident linked to the municipality’s development,’ recalled his life story, born in 1933 into a family of farmers and connected to field work since childhood.
