Municipality to Allocate 2.5 Million Euros for Comprehensive School Air Conditioning

The municipality will allocate 2.5 million euros to carry out comprehensive air conditioning in the schools of the town, as announced by the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, during a meeting with the directors of these facilities, within the framework of the funds granted by the Andalusian government to improve thermal comfort. The mayor explained that this action initially has a budget of 1.5 million euros, which will be increased by an additional one million euros planned in the municipal budget, and the 300,000 euros provided by the Andalusian government for schools. In addition, the City Council allocates 1.3 million euros annually for the conservation and maintenance of these centers, as Muñoz recalled. “The goal is also to make them sustainable facilities,” emphasized the mayor, who indicated that this year the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs will begin to generate electricity and save on electricity consumption, along with the necessary electrical pre-installation for all air conditioning systems.
