Marbella advances in energy efficiency through the renovation of classic fernandino lighting around Jacinto Benavente Avenue

The City Council has carried out a new action included in the Maintenance, Conservation and Repair Plan for the municipality’s Electrical Installations, which has involved the complete replacement of the current discharge lamp luminaires and electromagnetic ballasts with new LED technology light points of high efficiency. The Councilor for Works, Diego López, highlighted that this project ‘reaffirms the municipal commitment to sustainability, the modernization of urban space, and the reduction of energy consumption.’ The councilor detailed that the intervention ‘allows for the conservation of the classic fernandino lighting aesthetics, a symbol of the city’s urban heritage, while incorporating a more efficient, durable, and environmentally friendly lighting system.’ He indicated that in this first phase, the works cover the streets located around Jacinto Benavente Avenue, specifically Market Avenue, the section between Huerta Chica and Hermanos Belón Lima, as well as Valentuñana, Juan Ramón Jiménez, and Francisco Quevedo streets.
