The City Council, through the Department of Environment, has completed the cleaning and conservation works in the Río Verde riverbed, aimed at improving its hydraulic capacity and preserving this natural area designated as a Special Conservation Zone (ZEC). Councilor Diego López emphasized that the project, carried out over a five-month period, encompassed six sections of the riverbed. The comprehensive approach included waste removal and selective vegetation management to ensure hydraulic safety while conserving the natural and scenic environment. The site visit was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Andalusian Government in Málaga, Fernando Fernández Tapia-Ruano, and Virginia Sanjuán, the Director of Operations of the Western Costa del Sol System.
