City Council Approves Automatic Renewal of Free Municipal Mobility Card for Residents

The City Council has approved the automatic renewal for an additional two years (until the end of May 2027) of the Free Municipal Mobility Card for residents in the municipality, of which 91,000 units have already been issued. The spokesperson for the Local Executive, Félix Romero, explained that the measure aims to facilitate this update to residents and highlighted that nearly 90 percent of adult citizens benefit from this initiative, for which the City Council has invested 28 million euros since 2019. The councilor specified that the renewal will apply to the blue cards, as the gold ones (for those over 65) can be used indefinitely. “What we have done is to maintain our commitment to providing transportation at no cost to the citizens,” he emphasized.
