Marbella City Council Urges Central Government to Ease Tax Pressure on Self-Employed Individuals

The Marbella City Council has approved a motion today urging the central government to implement support measures for self-employed individuals and to establish the VAT franchise scheme set by the European Union. The proposal was presented by the councilor of Citizen Participation, Enrique Rodríguez, who emphasized that current policies have only brought more taxes, fees, procedures, and insecurity to workers who are a fundamental pillar of the local and national economy. He highlighted that these professionals, who open their businesses every day, generate wealth, yet continue to face an unsustainable tax and bureaucratic pressure. Additionally, he demanded the immediate implementation of a directive that is currently on hold and would benefit over 3,000 people in the city. This directive would exempt those earning less than 85,000 euros annually from charging this tax on their invoices, thereby reducing their burden.
