Marbella Becomes a Leading Destination for Hosting Major Sports Events

Marbella solidifies its position as a reference for hosting major sports events with the Absolute Beach Tennis Championship, which will bring together nearly 300 players from across the country. The event, taking place in the Mediterranean Park from Friday, May 16 to Sunday, May 18, has an economic impact on the city of almost half a million euros. The councilor, Lisandro Vieytes, emphasized the significance of the championship being held in impressive facilities covering about 80,000 square meters, with 17 courts including a central court with seating for 500 spectators, all equipped with infrastructure to accommodate different areas. Additionally, the councilor announced a sponsorship contract with the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation for the next three years to ensure the continuity of this event in Marbella. The councilor highlighted the city’s commitment not only to beach tennis but also to beach sports in general, such as the King’s Cup and the Queen’s Cup of Beach Volleyball.
