Local Government Recognizes Efforts of Schools and Youth Council in Promoting Democracy among Young People
Today, the City Council acknowledged the work done by the CEIP José Banús, Fuentenueva, and Pinolivo schools, as well as the Municipal Council for Childhood and Adolescence, in planting the seed of democracy in the youth. The Mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, praised the high turnout in activities organized by the Citizen Participation department during the European Week of Local Democracy. This event marked the 40th anniversary of the European Charter of Local Self-Government. The Mayor highlighted initiatives like neighborhood meetings, school visits by councilors, and an art contest where students depicted democracy and the role of local government in their daily lives.
