Marpoética International Poetry Prize Awarded to Granadian Writer Gerardo Rodríguez Salas

Today, Mayor Ángeles Muñoz presented the III Marpoética International Poetry Prize to Granadian writer Gerardo Rodríguez Salas for his work ‘Oxford Circus’ at the Hospital Real de la Misericordia. The mayor emphasized Marbella’s role as a center for literary creation with this prestigious award, which has become one of the most respected in the Spanish literary scene. This year, the competition, organized by the City Council, received a total of 1,964 poetry collections, with 1,122 submissions coming from Spanish-speaking countries. The mayor highlighted the significance of these numbers, stating that they reflect the trust that many authors place in Marbella as a hub for thought and expression.
