Students Take the Stage at Marpoética with Aurora Luque and the Classics as Guides

Students are the protagonists at Marpoética. The poetry festival in Marbella features a series of activities aimed at active participation of young readers. Activities like ‘Simultaneous Poetry’, ‘Visiting the Classics’, and ‘Word of the Sea’ bring together initiatives for high school students, complemented by the School Poetry Prize aimed at students in Primary and Secondary Education. Recently, the National Poetry Prize winner and PhD in Classical Philology, Aurora Luque, met with over 70 Humanities students to recite texts from ancient Greco-Latin literature at the Roman Villa of Río Verde. During the event, students from various schools gave voice to Virgil, Theognis, Sappho, and Catullus in Latin and Greek, followed by reflections from Luque emphasizing the importance of knowing the classics, as they can teach us many things since everything they write, all art, and their entire legacy are built on immense love for life and for humanity.
