San Pedro Alcántara Municipal Council Begins Process to Enhance Safety and Value of Las Medranas Reservoir

The San Pedro Alcántara Municipal Council has started the second phase of the action plan for the Las Medranas reservoir, focusing on processing the drafting of the project to ensure the safety of the water infrastructure and enhance its value. Deputy Mayor Javier García announced, “Our goal is to restore this natural area for the enjoyment of citizens,” while noting that “this new phase begins after the completion of the precautionary measures requested by the Andalusian Government,” which included “complete drainage of the dam, provisional reform of the spillway and bottom dam, installation of a perimeter fence, and removal of sediment downstream to prevent blockages.”
