Piedad Bonnett Emphasizes the Healing Power of Poetry at Marpoética’s Ninth Edition Opening
Colombian poet Piedad Bonnett opened the ninth edition of the Marpoética festival last night in a conversation with literary director Javier Vicedo, marked by intense, reflective, and humorous discussions about poetry and its healing value. The event, held at the Marbella City Theater, concluded with the voice and music of La Tania, a avant-garde fusion combining copla and flamenco with contemporary pop. Culture’s General Director, Carmen Díaz, highlighted Marpoética as an “essential cultural gathering for Spanish poetry” that has evolved over its nine years towards dialogue with other arts such as music, theater, and cinema. “Poetry is thought, music, language creation, it is the purest form of creation that exists,” emphasized Díaz.
