Municipality Enhances Neighborhood Care with New Underground Island Cleaning Service
The municipality has strengthened neighborhood care by introducing a specific service dedicated to deep cleaning the underground container islands in the municipality. The new operation improves the hygienic conditions of these facilities and complements the maintenance and repair activities that have been ongoing since their launch in 2025. Councilor Diego López stated that ‘this new service is part of the Municipality’s commitment to further improve urban cleanliness and to care for infrastructures that are part of our residents’ daily lives.’ The councilor explained that the operation covers a network of 634 facilities distributed throughout the city, corresponding to different waste fractions: 308 organic, 111 packaging, 105 glass, and 110 paper and cardboard.
