Marine Biodiversity Recovery and Ecosystem Transformation in Marbella’s Sports Port
The marine renaturalization plan promoted by the Virgen del Carmen Sports Port in Marbella, through the installation of six biomimetic structures inspired by natural reefs, has begun to show positive results in the recovery of biodiversity within the port area. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz, accompanied by the facility’s director Carlos Romero, chaired an informative session today attended by over twenty 1st year high school students from IES Sierra Blanca. The technical team monitoring this initiative has confirmed the appearance and colonization of various species of microfauna and marine organisms.
