Marbella to Implement a New Ordinance to Streamline Urban Planning Procedures

Marbella will launch a new ordinance to continue streamlining urban planning procedures and reducing the timeframes for obtaining licenses as a reinforcement to the work carried out by municipal technicians. The councilor of the area, José Eduardo Díaz, highlighted that they are the first municipality with over 100,000 inhabitants in all of Andalusia to definitively approve this document, which was published in the BOPMA on September 12 and will come into effect on October 7, taking advantage of the expanded possibilities of the current regional regulations. He explained that this opens up another option for citizens or developers to address not only the local Administration as traditionally done, or the Architects’ Association – following an agreement reached with the organization in 2019 allowing for the certification of urban certification – but also to certifying entities for processing responsible declarations, major or minor licenses, and first occupancy permits.
