Fernando León de Aranoa’s Literary Imprint Closes ‘Dialogues’ Cycle at Marpoética
Fernando León de Aranoa was in charge of closing the ‘Dialogues’ cycle at Marpoética yesterday, where writer Marta Jiménez Serrano also participated on Tuesday with her novel ‘Oxygen.’ Both authors discussed their writing process, literary influences, and the impact of being a writer. León de Aranoa’s reading heritage includes Spanish-American short story writers, especially from Peru, who have had a constant influence on him. His works ‘Here Dragons are Born’ and ‘Leonera’ are compilations of short stories. For the director and screenwriter, his narrative is not an extension of his work in film. On the contrary, ‘it has other objectives,’ he emphasized. ‘It’s like changing playgrounds. Embracing fiction from a different angle, with different tools,’ he specified.
