City Council Collects Over 2,000 Tons of Furniture and Household Goods from June to August

The City Council, through the Cleaning department, has collected a total of 2,044 tons of furniture and household goods in the months of June, July, and August. This marks a 4.8% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024 when 1,949 tons were removed. Councilor Diego López explained that this increase confirms the upward trend in bulky waste generation during the summer season, attributed to both population growth and increased activity in second homes and tourist accommodations. Additionally, there has been a significant rise in the disposal of these items this summer, requiring a substantial effort from municipal services to effectively respond.
