City Council and Regional Government of Andalusia strengthen coordination for water security in the city during emergencies
The City Council and the Regional Government of Andalusia have reinforced coordination to ensure water security in the city during emergencies. The councilor, José Eduardo Díaz, highlighted during a visit to the Concepción Dam, along with the commissioner of the National Police of Marbella, Esther Martín, that ‘the latest adverse meteorological phenomenon in the municipality demonstrated how proper planning and effective collaboration allow for timely decision-making, such as controlled releases or channel cleaning, ensuring the safety of the population.’ He also emphasized that this collaboration ‘has been enhanced since the creation of the municipal emergency committee, which was joined by the director of Operation of the Western Costa del Sol System, Virginia Sanjuán, a key infrastructure to guarantee water supply to the eleven municipalities in the region, as well as to prevent risks associated with unfavorable weather events.’
