Marbella approves the first PGOM in Andalucía adapted to the LISTA and opens a new stage in the planning and urban development of the city

Marbella has taken a historic step today with the final approval, with the votes in favor of the PP Government team, OSP, and VOX, and the abstention of the PSOE, of its General Plan for Municipal Planning (PGOM), the first in Andalucía adapted to the Law for the Sustainability of the Territory of Andalucía (LISTA), thus culminating the renewal of the urban framework of a city that until now was governed by planning approved in 1986. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, has emphasized that this milestone ‘opens a new stage’ and has defined the document as a ‘city plan for and by Marbella’, conceived to respond to the current needs of the municipality and to organize its evolution in the coming years. The mayor has highlighted the extensive work process that has allowed this milestone to be achieved, with the participation of technical teams, administrations, professional groups, and citizens, and has particularly thanked the work carried out for years ‘to resolve the urban complexity of the municipality’. Muñoz has indicated that the result ‘transcends any mandate and constitutes a tool aimed at guaranteeing the future of the locality, adapting its planning to the current reality and providing a more flexible framework to address new challenges’.
