Héctor Abad Faciolince’s literature and Mayte Martín’s voice marked the end of the ninth edition of Marpoética. The Colombian writer and the Catalan singer filled the Marbella City Theater with their distinctive styles in a plea for words, sensitivity, and art stripped of artifice. Faciolince engaged in a conversation with poet and journalist Antonio Lucas, revealing the elusive side of the novelist, who was described as a ‘hidden poet of a single book.’ ‘Poetry was my first love, I wished to be a poet,’ expressed Faciolince. ‘I hope it will also be my last love, like those elderly couples who reunite at the end of life,’ he confessed.
