New Urban Planning Instruction Approved by City Council to Streamline Building Permits

The City Council has approved a new urban planning instruction aimed at reducing timelines and simplifying the processing of building permits. The councilor in charge, José Eduardo Díaz, explained that with this measure, ‘procedures are organized, technical criteria are unified, and the relationship between citizens and the administration is improved,’ while also stating that ‘we precisely define the minimum documentation required according to the type of action and avoid disparate interpretations within the service itself.’ He emphasized that it establishes standard report templates and limits the number of administrative requirements ‘to avoid delays due to repeated corrections.’ The document, resulting from coordinated work among various municipal departments and dialogue with professional associations and industry stakeholders, is available for consultation on the municipal website.
