Marbella Ends 2025 with Lowest Unemployment Rate in 19 Years and Record Number of Contributors and Self-Employed Individuals

Marbella has closed the year 2025 with record employment, affiliation, and entrepreneurship data, consolidating its leadership in this area and positioning itself as the second municipality with over 40,000 inhabitants with the fewest unemployed individuals in Andalusia. The director general of the sector, Alejandro Freijo, highlighted the achievement as a reflection of the municipality’s commitment to economic development and creating an ideal environment for companies to invest, grow, and generate opportunities. The city finished the year with 7,164 unemployed individuals, the lowest number recorded in a December since 2006, representing a decrease of 712 unemployed individuals compared to the same month in 2024 and a 9% year-on-year reduction. He also noted the strength of the local job market, which hit another historic low last July with 6,722 unemployed individuals.
