Theater City of Marbella to Host ‘The Castle of Lindabridis’ by Calderón de la Barca
The Theater City of Marbella will be the stage for the performance of ‘The Castle of Lindabridis’ by Calderón de la Barca on Friday, April 11th, at 8:00 PM. The play, presented by the Nao d’amores and CNTC companies, has been awarded the National Theater Prize 2023. This comedic chivalric novel play is rich in artifice, featuring elaborate poetic language, music, dance, costumes, and fantastical beings, all woven into a plot typical of sword and cape tales. Calderón de la Barca adapts chivalric themes to his own theatrical context in this piece, creating a palatial game with carnival airs where the Baroque era rediscovers itself through a Medieval dream envisioned by the Renaissance.
