Storm Reduces Beach Width by Up to Ten Meters in City, Causes Significant Sand Loss

The City Council has activated a special plan due to the storm currently affecting the municipality’s coastline. Initial technical assessments report significant sand losses at various points along the coast. Specifically, the Artola-Cabopino beach has experienced an approximate five-meter reduction in width and 1.20 meters in height. The narrowest section of Venus-Bajadilla has seen its usable width decrease from about thirteen meters before the storm to just three meters, a reduction of nearly ten meters. Additionally, the San Pedro Alcántara beach has also suffered an estimated ten-meter width loss and two-meter height loss, causing serious issues in the sanitation system.
