San Pedro Alcántara’s Deputy Mayor’s Office Promotes Sustainable Management of Plant Waste in the Three Gardens Park
San Pedro Alcántara’s Deputy Mayor’s Office continues to advance its commitment to sustainability by incorporating biotrituration as a method of treating plant waste generated in pruning work. This technique was recently applied in the Three Gardens Park, one of San Pedro’s main public spaces, as part of a plan to maintain and improve garden areas. A high-capacity towed biotriturator was used to quickly and efficiently chip the pruned branches on-site. The resulting material is directly reused as organic ‘mulching,’ returning carbon to the soil and closing the natural waste cycle.
