The City Council has held a new coordination meeting to advance the preparations for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, which will take place in Marbella on November 8 and 9. This is the first time this competition is held in Spain and, as highlighted by the Sports Councillor, Lisandro Vieytes, ‘it is the largest sports event in the city’s history, with an unprecedented logistical deployment and estimated economic and media impacts of 60 and 16 million euros, respectively.’ The councilor emphasized that the city ‘has the experience and necessary preparation to face an event of this magnitude, which will require the involvement of all municipal departments.’
