Mayor highlights the cultural legacy of the gypsy community in ‘Opré Roma’ tribute event
The City Theatre of Marbella hosted last night the ‘Opré Roma’ show, a proposal celebrated in honor of the 600th anniversary of the arrival of the gypsy community in the Peninsula. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz emphasized that ‘it is an act of recognition, respect, and admiration towards a community that has left an indelible mark on our way of feeling, creating, and living’ and underscored that ‘Andalusian culture cannot be understood without their contribution, especially through flamenco, one of our greatest treasures and a universal hallmark.’
