Marbella Local Police Launches Pilot Project with Body Cameras for Real-Time Image Transmission

The Marbella Local Police has initiated a pilot project using body cameras capable of transmitting real-time images to the central command and control center (CECOP). The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, stated that for three months, officers will carry a total of ten devices with an 8-hour autonomy, emphasizing the municipality’s commitment to enhancing officer safety and operational efficiency through the latest technologies. The mayor added, ‘Our commitment is to allocate budgetary funds annually to provide our police with the best resources,’ noting that this new service complements the fixed video surveillance network deployed throughout the municipal area, which already exceeds 360 cameras.
