Marbella Commemorates Gypsy People Year and Six Centuries of Their Arrival in the Iberian Peninsula

The Marbella seafront is hosting a photography exhibition from today until November 14 to commemorate 2025 as the Year of the Gypsy People and the six centuries since their arrival in the Iberian Peninsula. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, inaugurated the exhibition today alongside the president and founder of the Dosta association, Vanesa Jiménez. The event was also attended by primary school students from the municipality. Muñoz emphasized, ‘We want to pay tribute to a community that is an inseparable part of our history, culture, and diversity with an initiative that goes beyond art and gives visibility to some of their most inspiring women.’
