Marbella City Council Regenerates Calle Coclé in San Pedro Alcántara for Improved Accessibility
The Marbella City Council is carrying out an urban improvement project on Calle Coclé in San Pedro Alcántara to enhance the accessibility, pedestrian mobility, and existing infrastructure in an area of nearly 3,000 square meters. The project involves renovating the pavement, reorganizing urban elements, and making improvements to water supply, irrigation, and drainage systems. San Pedro Alcántara’s deputy mayor, Javier García, highlighted issues such as worn-out pavement, accessibility problems at certain pedestrian crossings, and pavement deformations caused by tree roots. The initiative includes replacing the current pavement with exposed aggregate concrete, redesigning planters and other urban elements to optimize public space usage, and installing a new drainage system for water collection through drains, along with enhancements to water supply and irrigation networks.
