Local Government to Improve Permeability and Sustainable Transversal Mobility of Guadaiza River

The local government will enhance the permeability of the Guadaiza River in San Pedro Alcántara and its sustainable transversal mobility through the renaturalization and flood risk mitigation of this tributary’s riverbed. The deputy mayor of San Pedro, Javier García, explained this initiative to residents during an informative session at the Guadaiza Trapiche Cultural Center, which included environmental experts. The project focuses on emphasizing the conservation of the existing ecosystem richness in the river, recognized as a special area of interest in the Natura 2000 Network. The actions include planting native species along its banks and removing invasive flora to address the noticeable ecological and environmental alterations present.
