Local Government Shows Strong Support for Grassroots Sports with Over 210,000 Euros in Grants to Thirty Local Clubs
The City Council has distributed grant decrees for the year 2025 to nearly thirty sports clubs in the municipality, in an event held at the Hospital Real de la Misericordia. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, emphasized that these grants, totaling over 210,000 euros – to increase to 270,000 euros this year, demonstrate the Council’s commitment to the local community. The grants cover essential expenses such as licenses, travel, equipment, and participation in competitions, while also promoting sports as a driver of inclusion, health, and education. The mayor also praised the dedication of coaches, families, and volunteers in ensuring that hundreds of children, youth, and adults engage in physical activity under conditions of quality, safety, and values.
