The local government is making progress in the renaturalization and flood risk mitigation of the Guadaiza River, a project that is 85% completed and will involve the reforestation of over 8,000 native species, marking an essential step towards environmental recovery in the area. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Javier García, highlighted the municipality’s commitment to sustainability, conservation of local ecosystems, and natural hazard prevention through this initiative. With an investment exceeding 2.6 million euros, the project is set to be completed in the coming months, spanning three kilometers between San Pedro Alcántara and Nueva Andalucía districts over 90,000 square meters.
