Emergency Services Conduct Safety Drill for Beach Quality Renewal in Marbella

Over 40 emergency responders from Local Police, Firefighters, Civil Protection, and lifeguard services participated in a security drill today at Levante Beach in Puerto Banús to renew the quality certification. The exercise, lasting over an hour, involved scenarios such as a land search for a missing child, a staged collision between two boats, and a hypothetical underwater search near the west breakwater. Councilor Diego López highlighted the importance of testing the capacity and coordination to respond to emergencies, emphasizing the assessment by external auditors. Currently, 18 Marbella beaches hold the quality certification, with the goal of extending it to all beaches.
