City Council strengthens police control at waste disposal site using camera network for identifying violations

The City Council has reinforced police control at the waste disposal site and will use the information provided by the camera network installed throughout the city to identify violations against cleanliness and coexistence regulations. The municipal spokesperson, Félix Romero, announced this today after the Local Government Board meeting, stating that the Municipal Police Headquarters ‘intensified surveillance activities at the beginning of the year to detect these types of behaviors, and in the first five months of the year, more fines were issued than in all of 2024.’ ‘In this way, we are taking a step further due to the increase in practices that violate regulations, such as throwing garbage at unauthorized times, not depositing it inside the containers and in places other than specified, dumping debris, or abandoning furniture,’ he pointed out.
