City Council Renews Street Pavement for Improved Durability

The City Council has begun the renovation of the pavement on Father Jose Vera Street, where the current cobblestone will be replaced with a more suitable surface for vehicular traffic while maintaining the traditional look of the area. The project is expected to last about a month and will enhance the safety and longevity of this central thoroughfare. Councilor of Works, Diego Lopez, stated that the renovation follows the same approach as those in Huerta Chica and Castillejos, involving the removal of cobblestones and base mortar to be replaced by a layer of hot asphalt, better suited to withstand daily vehicle traffic. He also mentioned that residents with parking permits on Father Jose Vera and Marina Promenade will have access to their properties during demolition and concreting works, though access will be restricted during the asphalt and printing phase.
