City Council Holds Moment of Silence and Declares Day of Mourning for the Latest Victim of Gender Violence

The municipal corporation held a moment of silence today at the entrance of the Town Hall as a sign of mourning and rejection of the latest case of gender violence in the city. They have declared an official day of mourning, with the flag flying at half-mast. The Government spokesperson, Félix Romero, stated, ‘Any manifestation of violence is absolutely unacceptable, but it is even more painful when the perpetrator takes advantage of a position of superiority to cause harm,’ and added, ‘Hopefully, she will be the last victim, hopefully justice will prevail, and we will not have to unfairly bid farewell to another citizen.’
