Marbella Sets New Record in Employment in September
Marbella set a new employment record in September with 6,246 unemployed individuals, which is 708 fewer than a year ago (6,954), representing a 10.18% decrease, and an increase in hiring by 9.78% compared to August. The area’s general director, Alejandro Freijo, highlighted that ‘we have achieved the best results this month since 2007’ and emphasized that the city ‘continues to have activity and new job opportunities even after the strong summer months.’ However, he noted that ‘although there was an increase of 383 unemployed compared to August, this rise is in line with the usual seasonal pattern after the summer period, coinciding with the end of some contracts linked to the high season and the increased activity that Marbella experiences during the summer months.’
