Marbella Officially Kicks Off Carnival 2026 with Pregón by ‘El Pirata’

Marbella officially started Carnival 2026 with the traditional Pregón held last night at the Adolfo Suárez Conference Center, bringing together institutional representatives, carnival groups, and a large audience. The event marks the beginning of one of the most anticipated festivals in the town’s event calendar. The Pregón was delivered by José Antonio Ortiz Fernández, popularly known as ‘El Pirata’, who emotionally reflected on his journey and the history of the carnival in the municipality, emphasizing the importance of family tradition and the sentimental value it holds in his life. Throughout his speech, the speaker expressed gratitude to his loved ones and also paid tribute to historical figures of Marbella’s Carnival, celebrating the roots that have kept the festival alive for generations.
