San Pedro Alcántara Plaza Dedicated to Paco Álvarez in Recognition of His Cultural and Social Legacy
The City Council paid a touching tribute to Paco Álvarez on Saturday, naming a plaza in San Pedro Alcántara after him. Álvarez was one of the founders of the local Flamenco Club and the plaza is located near the Municipal Market and the club’s headquarters. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz emphasized that this honor is well-deserved for someone who made a lasting impact on the city and exemplified perseverance and love for heritage. She praised Álvarez’s dedication to flamenco, an art he believed should be preserved and passed down.
