City Council Starts Annual Endotherapy Campaign to Prevent Pine Processionary Moth Infestation

The City Council has launched its annual endotherapy campaign in urban trees to prevent the appearance of the pine processionary moth (Thaumetopea pityocampa), one of the most common and harmful pests in green areas, especially due to the health risks it poses for the population, particularly children and pets. The work is being carried out at this time because endotherapy requires a distribution period of the product through the tree’s vascular system to reach the needles. This way, when the first larvae hatch and start feeding, the treatment is already active, acting with maximum effectiveness.
