San Pedro Alcántara’s Beautification Plan with 18,000 Low-Water-Consumption Plants

San Pedro Alcántara has launched a beautification and floral renewal campaign by planting nearly 18,000 new plant species coinciding with the start of the peak tourist season. The deputy mayor of San Pedro, Javier García, explained that this initiative is part of the program to maintain and improve green spaces with the aim of enhancing the tourist appeal and providing a well-maintained image for residents and visitors. The selected species for this campaign have been chosen based on sustainability and efficiency criteria, known for their high temperature resistance and low water consumption. Varieties include pentas near the Tenencia de Alcaldía building and sumpatiens at the Marqués del Duero roundabout.
